Loi No. 2009 010 du 11 juin 2009 relative à l’organisation de l’état civil au Togo

The law places authority for civil registration in Togo under the joint administration of the ministry of local government and the ministry of justice and provides for registration of births, marriages and deaths. The law prohibits the mention of ethnicity or customary law of the father in civil registration documents.
