Uganda: Kabale, NIRA Embarks On Forceful Registration of Births and Deaths

The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) this week embarked on the compulsory registration of child births and deaths in Kabale district. NIRA Public Relations Assistant Michael Muganga, speaking Monday at a day-long training of sub county chiefs and other district civil servants, said the exercise, which will take ten days in Kabale will help government gather data about newly born babies aged between 0-15 years and deaths, right from the community level and hospitals.
