Biometric passports issued to Mozambicans in South Africa

All Mozambicans working and living in South Africa must have a biometric passport by November of this year.

The South African authorities say that, after that date, nobody will be allowed to enter the country without such a document.

Mozambican officials, however, are confident that the deadline will not cause problems.

Current estimates are that around 43,000 Mozambicans are working on the South African mines, and a further 12,000 are working in farms.
