Daloa, August 18, 2021 (AIP) – The Association of Women Lawyers of Côte d’Ivoire and the High Commission for Refugees proceeded, Tuesday August 17, 2021, to the delivery of nationality certificates to foundlings, parents unknown in Daloa.

The beneficiaries, seven in number, each received a certificate of nationality. This administrative document gives them legal existence. These children who would run the risk of statelessness are now out of the risk and are now Ivorians, we note.

“We are here to certify on the one hand the result of an ambitious process, carried out by the Association of Women Lawyers of Côte d’Ivoire and its faithful partner, the UNHCR and on the other hand to allow children, human rights from now on to enjoy the rights linked to nationality and citizenship ”, stated Me Assa Simone, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFJCI.
