{"id":12358,"date":"2017-02-27T21:43:05","date_gmt":"2017-02-27T21:43:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/?p=12358"},"modified":"2017-02-28T21:45:08","modified_gmt":"2017-02-28T21:45:08","slug":"ghana-yet-to-implement-national-action-plan-against-statelessness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/en\/ghana-yet-to-implement-national-action-plan-against-statelessness\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana yet to implement National Action Plan against statelessness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Pamela Ofori-Boateng<\/p>\n<p>Although Ghana pledged in 2015 to end statelessness in 2016, it still remains one of the few West African countries yet to implement the national action plan to eradicate statelessness.<\/p>\n<p>The Abidjan Declaration was adopted in 2015 by Head of States of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).<\/p>\n<p>This declaration commits member states to support the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees <em>(<\/em>UNHCR ), to end statelessness by 2024.
