{"id":41906,"date":"2024-11-23T18:25:06","date_gmt":"2024-11-23T18:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/?p=41906"},"modified":"2024-11-24T18:26:54","modified_gmt":"2024-11-24T18:26:54","slug":"zimbabwe-i-want-a-zim-passport-says-zim-born-sa-citizen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/en\/zimbabwe-i-want-a-zim-passport-says-zim-born-sa-citizen\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe: I want a Zim passport, says Zim-born SA citizen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Silas Nkala<\/p>\n<p>A ZIMBABWE-BORN South African citizen has petitioned the Zimbabwean immigration authorities protesting her treatment as a visitor to the country.<\/p>\n<p>Tyra Chante Naidoo, a holder of a Zimbabwean birth certificate and national identity card, wrote to the principal director of immigration raising concerns over her treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Naidoo is represented by Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights member Prisca Dube.<\/p>\n<p>Her recent visitor\u2019s permit expired on June 19, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur client was born in Zimbabwe on June 15, 1996 at Mbuya Nehanda Maternity Hospital in Harare.
