{"id":42258,"date":"2025-03-24T15:25:18","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T15:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/?p=42258"},"modified":"2025-03-26T15:31:02","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T15:31:02","slug":"south-africa-campaign-launched-to-help-stateless-people-become-citizens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/en\/south-africa-campaign-launched-to-help-stateless-people-become-citizens\/","title":{"rendered":"South Africa: Campaign launched to help stateless people become citizens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Hundreds take part in human rights festival at Constitutional Hill<\/em><\/p>\n<p>By Ihsaan Haffejee and Kimberly Mutandiro News | Johannesburg<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hundreds of people joined the celebrations at the seventh Human Rights Festival at Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg over the weekend.<\/li>\n<li>This year\u2019s festival showcased a variety of events and performances, including a book fair, a film festival, panel discussions, and me.<\/li>\n<li>During the festival\u2019s activities on Friday, Lawyers for Human Rights launched its statelessness campaign titled Her Document, Her Dignity Campaign.<\/li>\n<li>The event ended with \u201cWe the people walk\u201d \u2014 a symbolic 8km walk through the streets of Joburg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg was a hive of activity at the weekend as hundreds of people joined events and celebrations at the seventh Human Rights Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The theme for this year\u2019s four-day festival was A just and inclusive South Africa.
