{"id":42394,"date":"2025-05-30T16:15:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T14:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/?p=42394"},"modified":"2025-06-03T16:16:36","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T14:16:36","slug":"nigeria-nimc-to-capture-95-of-nigerians-before-december-2025-dg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/en\/nigeria-nimc-to-capture-95-of-nigerians-before-december-2025-dg\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria: NIMC To Capture 95% Of Nigerians Before December 2025 \u2013 DG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, has declared the agency\u2019s ambitious plan to register 95% of Nigerians into the National Identity Database before December 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during a briefing in Abuja, Coker-Odusote said the goal aligns with President Bola Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly on digital governance and inclusive development.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the mass enrollment drive will be powered by a combination of improved infrastructure, expanded registration centres, and robust public sensitization campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>What we have done in this regard is that we will commence the Ward Enrollment Exercise to capture at least 95% of Nigerians before December, year end,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>As of May 2025, NIMC reports over 120 million Nigerians have been enrolled, and about 100 million more would be captured by December.
