{"id":42896,"date":"2026-02-10T17:51:04","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T15:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/?p=42896"},"modified":"2026-02-11T17:54:02","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T15:54:02","slug":"ghana-citizenship-updates-2026-vetting-begins-feb-11-at-dubois-centre-wait-for-your-notification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/en\/ghana-citizenship-updates-2026-vetting-begins-feb-11-at-dubois-centre-wait-for-your-notification\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana: Granting Of Citizenship for Historic Diasporan Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of the Interior and the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President announce the Vetting of the Granting of Citizenship for the \u201c<strong>Historic Diaspora Community<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants for the Historic Diaspora Community will be scheduled in batches for vetting at the <strong>Dubois Centre, Cantonments in Accra<\/strong>, starting <strong>February 11, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicants are also advised to wait for notification on their vetting schedule from the Ministry before visiting the centre to avoid overcrowding.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Ministry acknowledges that due to the overwhelming number of applicants and the limited time frame for the ceremonial swearing-in scheduled for 5<sup>th<\/sup> March 2026, not all interested persons will be able to participate in the process.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of the Interior, in collaboration with the Diaspora Affairs Office, assures all interested persons that the citizenship process remains open via <a href=\"https:\/\/e-services.mint.gov.gh\"><strong>https:\/\/e-services.mint.gov.gh<\/strong><\/a> for registration, and no one will be disadvantaged.<\/p>\n<p>The Government of Ghana is committed to granting Ghanaian citizenship to all qualified applicants as part of its diaspora affairs initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Press release: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mint.gov.gh\/granting-of-citizenship-for-historic-diasporan-community\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.mint.gov.gh\/granting-of-citizenship-for-historic-diasporan-community\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Ministry of the Interior and the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President announce the Vetting of the Granting of Citizenship for the \u201cHistoric Diaspora Community\u201d.
