Repeals and replaces the organic law of 2004; itself repealed and replaced by the organic law of 2021.<\/p>\n

TITLE II<\/span>: RWANDAN NA<\/span>TIONALITY BY <\/span>PARENTAL DESCENT <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Article 6<\/span>: Rwandan pa<\/span><\/span>rental descent<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Shall be Rwandan any person whose one of the <\/span>parents is Rwandan.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Article 7<\/span>: Rwandan parental descent as a <\/span>condition of granting nationality <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Parental descent shall be taken into <\/span>con<\/span>sideration in <\/span>matters of granting nationality only where it has <\/span>been provided for by the <\/span>laws in force in Rwanda. <\/span>Conditions for determining whether a person is of <\/span>Rwandan parental descent shall be provided for by <\/span>Presidential Order<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>TITLE III<\/span>: ACQUIRED <\/span>RWANDAN <\/span>NATIONALITY<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>CHAPTER ONE<\/span>: RWANDAN <\/span>NATIONALITY BY BIRTH IN RWANDA<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Article 8: <\/span><\/span>Foreigner born in Rwanda whose <\/span><\/span>parents are known.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Any foreigner born on Rwandan territory from <\/span>alien parents residing in Rwanda may, from the age <\/span>of eighteen (18<\/span>), acquire Rwandan nationality <\/span>provided he or she applies for it to the Director <\/span>General. The relevant procedures for the application and granting of Rwandan nationality shall be provided for by Presidential Order.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Article 9: <\/span><\/span>Child born in Rwanda whose pa<\/span>rents <\/span>are unknown. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Any child born in Rwanda from unknown or stateless parents or who cannot acquire the nationality of one of his or her parents shall be Rwandan.<\/span><\/span>New born baby found on the Rwandan territory shall be considered as born in Rwanda in case of lack of proof to the contrary.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
