{"id":39833,"date":"2022-01-21T11:23:50","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T11:23:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/?p=39833"},"modified":"2024-01-04T11:31:31","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T11:31:31","slug":"zimbabwe-si-2022-016-citizenship-passport-fees-regulations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citizenshiprightsafrica.org\/fr\/zimbabwe-si-2022-016-citizenship-passport-fees-regulations\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe: SI 2022-016 Citizenship (Passport Fees) Regulations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Citizenship (Passport Fees) Regulations, 2022<\/p>\n<p>WHEREAS the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage has introduced new technology on the issuance of electronically readable passports;<\/p>\n<p>AND WHEREAS there is a backlog on applications for machine readable passports that needs to be cleared;<\/p>\n<p>AND WHEREAS the fees specified in the First Schedule below relate only to citizens who will apply for machine-readable passports from the date of the gazetting of these regulations;<\/p>\n<p>AND WHEREAS a machine-readable passport shall be issued where there is no capacity to issue an electronically readable passport at the time of any particular application:<\/p>\n<p>NOW, THEREFORE, in terms of section 22 of the Citizenship of Zimbabwe Act [Chapter 4:01], the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, has made the following regulations\u2014<\/p>\n<p>1. These regulations may be cited as the Citizenship (Passport Fees) Regulations, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>2. In these regulations\u2014<br \/>\n\u201cpassport\u201d means either a machine readable passport or an electronically readable passport.<\/p>\n<p>3. The Minister has fixed passport fees as specified in the First and Second Schedules<\/p>\n<p>First schedule (Section 3)<\/p>\n<p>MACHINE-READABLE PASSPORT FEES<\/p>\n<p>The fees payable shall be\u2014<br \/>\n(a) ordinary passport . . . . . . . . . . . . USD $100<br \/>\n(b) emergency or express passport . . . . . . . USD $200<\/p>\n<p>Second schedule (Section 3)<\/p>\n<p>ELECTRONICALLY-READABLE PASSPORT FEES<\/p>\n<p>The fees payable shall be\u2014<br \/>\n(a) ordinary passport . . . . . . . . . . . . USD $100<br \/>\n(b) emergency or express passport . . . . . . . USD $200<br \/>\n(c) the following additional fee shall be charged for every electronically readable passport application to obtain a quick response (QR) code . . . . USD$20<\/p>\n<p>4.
