Libya bans dual nationals from holding leadership positions

TRIPOLI, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) — Libya’s Administrative Control Authority, the top administrative body of the UN-backed government, on Thursday banned dual nationals from holding any leadership positions in the country.

« The Administrative Control Authority instructs all ministries, bodies and public companies, not to allow persons who hold nationalities other than Libyan to hold leadership positions, » the Authority announced.

The Authority said that « holders of foreign nationalities are deprived of Libyan nationality under the provisions of Law No. 24/2010. »
