Zimbabwe: Mawere arrested over tax fraud

Businessman Mutumwa Mawere has been arrested in South Africa on tax evasion and fraud charges, reports said on Wednesday.
The Zimbabwe-born businessman was arrested on Monday following an investigation by the South African Revenue Services (SARS).
A report in the Daily News said the former Shabanie Mashaba Mines owner had been “grassed” to South African authorities by an ex-business partner of Indian descent following a bitter wrangle.
Bail had been set at R500,000 and his family is now looking for the money, the report added.
