Namibia: ‘Struggle kids’ get ID docs

THE home affairs ministry started giving ‘struggle kids’ citizenship certificates, birth certificates and identity cards.

Minister Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana officially opened the nationwide special registration services in Windhoek, and assured the ‘struggle kids’ that there will be no investigations regarding proof of their birth before they get their national documents.

She told the group gathered at the Katutura Community Centre that they were not just making this special service available to the ‘struggle kids’ in Windhoek, but to their brothers and sisters countrywide.
