Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town

Regions: Afrique du Sud
Website: www.scalabrini.org.za

The Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town provides a variety of services to asylum-seekers, refugees and migrants, including English courses, welfare assistance, employment access assistance and paralegal advice with the Advocacy programme.

The Advocacy Programme offers legal advice and practical assistance to foreign individuals with the aim to ensure that their rights are respected.

In addition to assisting individuals, the programme also conducts ‘higher level’ advocacy to improve implementation of existing laws and procedures and change legislation and policies where necessary. Areas of such focus include unaccompanied and separated foreign minors and statelessness among others.
