Nigeria wages war against foreign voters

The Government of Nigeria has taken its fight against foreigners’ participation in the country’s elections a step higher with the introduction of National Identification Cards.
This comes at a time all indications point to an obvious participation of many foreigners in Ghana’s 2012 general elections that was won by President John Dramani Mahama, according to evidence presented by the New Patriotic Party to the Electoral Commission showing close to 70,000 alleged Togelese nationals on Ghana’s voters’ register used for the previous election.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who has expressed serious commitment to ensuring credible elections in Africa’s most populous nation, was reported to have said the national identification exercise would confirm the country’s population, especially of those aged 18 years and above.
