South Africa: This Is Home – Georgiana

At age eighteen Georgiana was removed from her mother’s refugee file, a process called de-linking. She had to make her own asylum seeker application which is currently being reviewed by the Standing Committee of Refugee Affairs (SCRA). De-linking strips young people of protection because they cannot have standalone claims to apply for their own asylum and refugee permits. #ThisIsHome campaign is calling for the practice of de-linking to stop and that the Department of Home Afairs ensures the practice of family unity.
