Section 152: Repeal of Act No. 14 of 1979, savings and supplementary provisions

(2) The Electoral Act, 1979, is repealed.

(3) Notwithstanding subsection (2):-

(d) every roll kept by a constituency registrar in terms of section 16 of the repealed Act immediately before the fixed date shall be deemed to be the voters roll kept for the constituency concerned in terms of section eight and every person who. immediately before the fixed date. was enrolled on such a roll shall be deemed to have been registered on the voters roll for that constituency in terms of this Act;

(5) A person who. at any time between the 1st January 1985 and the 31st December 1985:-

(a) became a citizen of Zimbabwe by registration; and

(b) was enrolled as a voter on any roll in terms of the repealed Act;

shall be deemed not to have lost his citizenship of Zimbabwe solely on account of his not having renounced any other citizenship in terms of section 9 of the Citizenship of Zimbabwe Act 1984 (No. 23 of 1984), and paragraph (d) of subsection (3) shall apply to him accordingly.
