Zambia Constitution 1964
Schedule 2 to the Zambia Independence Order, 1964.
Chapter II provides for citizenship.
Article 5: Every person born in Zambia after 23rd October, 1964, shall become a citizen of Zambia at the date of his birth: Provided that a person shall not become a citizen of Zambia by virtue of this section if at the time of his birth—
(a) neither of his parents is a citizen of Zambia and his father possesses such immunity from suit and legal process as is accorded to the envoy of a foreign sovereign power accredited to Zambia; or
(b) his father is a citizen of a country with which Zambia is at war and the birth occurs in a place then under occupation by that country.
