An Act to provide for the notification and registration of births and deaths
[1ST JULY 1904]
Section 18 provides:
18. Compulsory registration of non-African births
(1) The registration of the birth of a child shall be compulsory if either one or both parents are of European, American or Asiatic race or origin or, in the case of an illegitimate child not recognized by its father, if the mother is of European, American or Asiatic race or origin.
The act was repealed and replaced by the National Registration Act No.13 of 2010.
